Featured Wedding – Kimberly and Jason 8/3/13

The wedding of Kim and Jay was truly a beautiful thing.  The bride was simply stunning, the groom; handsome, the details; divine, but there was something that really enhanced this day beyond the wedding decor.  And that was Kim and Jay’s genuine excitement of getting married.  We’ve seen so many happy couples but when a bride walks into the mansion for her final meeting with this expression on her face:
you know this is someone who has moved beyond the details, the seating charts, and the floral arrangements.    Brides like Kim, who carry around so much joy and excitement, remind us why being in this business is so awesome.
On the day of the wedding, everything went flawlessly.  Coastal Gourmet planned a delicious menu that included the largest and most delicious plate of paellea we’ve ever seen. Floral Illusions made beautiful arrangements and Keith Alan Productions produced fantastic music for the party.

Kim got ready at the Inn at Middletown which made for some stunning pictures.

Jay and his groomsmen arrived at the mansion for some time (and pictures) with the guys

Then Kim arrived for their “first look”.  The photographer, Eric Foley, coordinated for them to first see each other on the west side of the back lawn.

Love the look on Jays face here

Then the wedding party headed out to the vista where the ceremony was taking place for a few more pictures.

The ceremony space had some really special touches that is worth sharing

With everything in place, the ceremony began…

Following, Kim and Jay took the opportunity to use the mansion grounds for more pictures.

And then the party began!

Now, here is one giant plate of paella!

Congratulations Kim and Jay.  It was truly an honor to host your wedding at the mansion.  We wish you many years of happiness!

Featured Wedding: Nora and Dave 7/20/13

July was a very hot month.  If you remember, the heat index remained in the 90s and even 100s for the entire month leaving little relief even when the sun went down.  Nora and Dave put a lot of planning and details into their wedding day, they took into account the hot weather and were sure to provide their guests with customized fans and lots of cold beer.  The color palate was simply elegant with yellow and gray and beautiful white floral arrangements for centerpieces and bouquets.  A very decadent meal was prepared by the talented cooks at A Thyme to Cook and as a cool off treat following the ceremony, Vicchitos Italian Ice was served!

Nora got ready at the mansion…
Nora and Dave were such a fun couple!  The weather was a bit precarious that July afternoon and we were all watching the radar to see if we could avoid the rain for a ceremony on the vista.  There was a bit of a drizzle in the early part of their day so the first look was done under the portico in the front of the mansion.
Here is their reaction to the rain tapering off…

… and look at this adorable flower girl!

The ceremony was delayed a little bit to wait for the clouds to clear but look how beautiful the sky was when Nora walked down the aisle.

After the ceremony, the guests stayed cool with fans, italian ice and cool drinks

Nora and Dave had their first dance under the Sperry tent on the patio

And the guests moved inside to dance the night away in the air conditioned loggia.

Congratulations to Nora and Dave on a beautiful and fun wedding!  We wish you all the best!

Featured Wedding: Lora and Alex 6/22/13

Lora and Alex were the very first wedding of our Summer season and what a great way for us to kick off a very hot, very busy season!  Lora loved the mansion so much, she had reserved it before she was even engaged!  We knew, with someone that enthusiastic about mansion, it would be a stunning affair.

It was a beautiful day and Lora put a lot of thought into every elegant detail.  She worked with Sharon Elizabeth flowers to create stunning, romantic bouquets with sparkling details and subtle and lovely centerpieces on each table.  David Alan catering put together a delicious feast for the guests to enjoy and Kim’s Cottage Confections assembled a beautiful cake adorned with buttercream flourishes.  Lora surprised Alex, an avid Star Wars fan, with an R2D2 grooms cake.

When we met Lora a couple weeks prior to her wedding for a details meeting, she was feeling a bit overwhelmed with the planning and logistics of it all.  One service we provide is meeting with the bride and groom to go over all of the details of the day to make sure nothing is forgotten or slips through the cracks.  We like to be sure our bride and grooms are at ease and feel like all is taken care of the day of the wedding. It seems by the time our meeting was over, she was feeling much more confident and when Lora arrived on her wedding day, she was simply stunning, completely at ease and ready to enjoy her wedding day!

Alex got ready at the hotel and arrived excited to see his bride
The ceremony took place in the tennis pavilion where the roses on the trellis were in full bloom

The couple and wedding party followed the ceremony with formal pictures in the front and back of the mansion

Then the celebrations continued with dancing and merriment!

Congratulations to Lora and Alex!  It was truly a joy to see your wedding come to life.  We wish you all the best in the years to come!
