Featured Wedding: Liesbet and Chris – 8/23/13

Featured Wedding – Kimberly and Jason 8/3/13

The wedding of Kim and Jay was truly a beautiful thing.  The bride was simply stunning, the groom; handsome, the details; divine, but there was something that really enhanced this day beyond the wedding decor.  And that was Kim and Jay’s genuine excitement of getting married.  We’ve seen so many happy couples but when a bride walks into the mansion for her final meeting with this expression on her face:
you know this is someone who has moved beyond the details, the seating charts, and the floral arrangements.    Brides like Kim, who carry around so much joy and excitement, remind us why being in this business is so awesome.
On the day of the wedding, everything went flawlessly.  Coastal Gourmet planned a delicious menu that included the largest and most delicious plate of paellea we’ve ever seen. Floral Illusions made beautiful arrangements and Keith Alan Productions produced fantastic music for the party.

Kim got ready at the Inn at Middletown which made for some stunning pictures.

Jay and his groomsmen arrived at the mansion for some time (and pictures) with the guys

Then Kim arrived for their “first look”.  The photographer, Eric Foley, coordinated for them to first see each other on the west side of the back lawn.

Love the look on Jays face here

Then the wedding party headed out to the vista where the ceremony was taking place for a few more pictures.

The ceremony space had some really special touches that is worth sharing

With everything in place, the ceremony began…

Following, Kim and Jay took the opportunity to use the mansion grounds for more pictures.

And then the party began!

Now, here is one giant plate of paella!

Congratulations Kim and Jay.  It was truly an honor to host your wedding at the mansion.  We wish you many years of happiness!

Wedding of the Week – Jenny and Tyler

To continue our series we started highlighting one of our past couples, this week we are featuring Jenny and Tyler’s wedding. Jenny and Tyler were married at the Mansion on August 8, 2010.

Jenny and Tyler met for the first time in Las Vegas at a restaurant called I Love Sushi, the dinner was hosted by a mutual friend.

About the proposal:

Tyler proposed to Jenny on November 27, 2009 on the campus of her alma mater, Smith College in Northampton, MA. It was a rainy, foggy day. He got down on one knee and proposed on a bridge. He personally designed the engagement ring, the stone was given to him when he was a teenager by his grandfather who purchased it in South Africa with the intent that one day it would be worn by Tyler’s bride. During the proposal he explained to Jenny why he chose each detail of the setting and how it symbolized them.

The Details:

Tyler and Jenny wanted the wedding to be intimate and simplistically elegant, which is one of the many reasons they chose Wadsworth Mansion as the venue. They said to each other, “what a beautiful place to start our life together.” Jenny added: “The mansion has a quiet elegance, nothing gaudy or overstated, it completely fit our style. We also loved the idea of being married on the grounds which are absolutely picturesque! Everything just came together perfectly, and it didn’t feel like a wedding factory which was so important to us.”

Jenny wore Franz Xavier Winter Halter by Carolina Herrera. Her veil was the matching piece designed also by Carolina Herrera. Her shoes were Swavorski Crystal covered Christian Louboutin’s. Tyler’s tuxedo was by ISAIA.

After the wedding Jenny and Tyler honeymooned for 100 days, visiting 32 cities around the world.

Thanks again for letting us be a part of your special day!

Wadsworth Mansion Featured Wedding – Jenny & Tyler

The weekend of beautiful weather (and weddings!) went out with a bang on Sunday with Jenny and Tyler’s wedding. Jenny and Tyler booked the Mansion for their wedding back in January while they were living in Las Vegas, prior to visiting the Mansion! We first met them at our Annual Wedding Show in February and they immediately stood out because Kristy ended up naming her son Tyler, who was born only 5 days later!
Jenny looked absolutely stunning in her gown, and the pink accents of roses and hydrangea were a beautiful backdrop to the white of the Mansion. The couple used different countries, such as Cambodia, Singapore, and Monaco to name their tables. They will be visiting many of these countries on their three-month honeymoon excursion around the world.
